Cosy
We might be cosy With our conspiracies Made up stories To make sense Of this world Who don’t like stories? Or a conspiracy? remember the good book, It had great stories We might like a life of leisure With a universal basic income Food delivered to our doors Everything else and more We would ride on our bikes Without leaving the front door Go cycling in the Alps, swim in the Azores We might be cosy With our conspiracies Made up stories Too make sense Of this world Who don’t like stories? Or a conspiracy? remember the good book, It had great stories We would live in our pods Like amphibians sometimes go outside But mostly subterranean We would have lots of vitamin D To keep us glowing, To keep us healthy And if there was a crisis We would not sit still and freeze We would get on our bikes To top up the electric meters Pedal power to warm us To give us central heating Ride in unison With our headsets on Power ourselves Toward the great mushroom cloud The cloud we all talk of… The cloud in our heads Perhaps it gives us comfort A logical ending To a rather complicated Middle of the story… We might be cosy With our conspiracies Made up stories Too make sense Of this world
